What you get

Rated 9 and above is the high-score group for places to sleep in Porto. It starts with a simple threshold: guests rate the place 9 out of 10 or more. It reaches 204 listings, which is 28 percent of the 728 places of the same kind on the site.

You are choosing accommodation, so the useful question is which property fits your trip, your dates and your budget while still carrying the guest score you want. This is a cut of the city's places to stay, defined by guest score rather than by property type or neighbourhood. If a high guest score is your first filter, this is the set to start with.

Every place here has already passed that score bar, so the work is in comparing the evidence behind each score and the entry price attached to it. It suits travellers who would rather begin with a proven guest score than with a brand, a street or a building type.

Three picks from the 204 options in this group, each chosen for a different reason: the most reviewed, the best rated on a solid number of reviews, and the cheapest of the well rated.

What these cost, and what you get for more

Entry prices across the group run from 33 EUR to 954 EUR, with a middle of 189 EUR. That middle is the number to hold in mind when you compare: it sits between the cheaper and more expensive halves of the group. The bands show where the weight sits.

Only 2 places start between 30 and 60 EUR. Another 18 start between 60 and 120 EUR. The main cluster is 120 to 250 EUR, with 134 places. Then 50 places start at 250 EUR and over.

So if you need a low entry price, the group is thin under 120 EUR, with 20 places in total across the two lowest bands. If you want a large pool to compare, aim for 120 to 250 EUR, where the main cluster sits. If you are comfortable above 250 EUR, you still have 50 places to compare.

The spread means the same 9-plus guest score can come with a very different price tag, so set your band first and then compare the evidence behind each score. You will see cheaper and more expensive options in the same group, and the middle price is a better guide than the extremes.

How far to trust the ratings

The evidence base is even. Every listing in the group sits at 8.1 and above with at least ten votes. The weaker bands are empty: 0 from 7.0 to just under 8.1, 0 under 7.0, 0 with fewer than ten votes, 0 without a single vote.

So you do not have to worry that a 9-plus score here is resting on a handful of reviews. The count beside the score still matters. Zero Box Lodge Porto shows what a high-volume score looks like: 9.0 from 4,213 ratings. Torel Saboaria is higher on score with 9.6 from 1,363 ratings.

GuestReady - Loft 515 shows the other end of the acceptable range: 9.0 from 17 ratings. A 9.0 from 4,213 is a different signal from a 9.0 from 17, even though both pass the ten-vote floor. That is why you should read the count next to any score before you let the score alone decide.

The difference across the group is in how much weight each score carries.

Which one to pick

Start with what you want to spend, then check the evidence. Almada Domus is the balance point in the lower-middle range: from 145 EUR, with 9.4 from 639 ratings. Legends House by Sweet Porto sits a step up in price and evidence: from 238 EUR, with 9.3 from 866 ratings.

If you want to spend more, Canto De Luz - Luxury Maison starts at 651 EUR, with 9.3 from 168 ratings. Those three show the trade you are making: a very high score can come with a lower count, while a large count can come with a slightly lower score. If cancellation flexibility matters, 54 of the 204 places carry free cancellation.

The neighbouring groups are organised differently. Every place to stay has 728 listings, so this group is a subset of that larger pool. Hotels has 87, Apartments has 549, Guest houses has 63, and Hostels has 27. By area, The Ribeira has 93, The Baixa has 409, Cedofeita has 66, Bonfim has 124, and Miragaia and Massarelos has 29.

This group cuts across those property types and areas and keeps only the 9-plus scores. So if you want a particular property type or neighbourhood first, use those groups. If you want the guest score to lead, stay here and compare the evidence and entry price.

The three named here give you a concrete way to choose between a lower price, a mid price and a higher price.
