Twenty-two viewpoints are listed, and they carry 262,775 reviews between them, more than the museums, monuments and parks put together. A view costs nothing and everyone who stops at one seems to say so.

Nineteen of the twenty-two are rated 4.5 or better, the highest share of any group on the site, and five stand within a kilometre of the centre. The rest spread along both banks and out to the coast.

The viewpoints are the most reviewed places in Porto: the 22 carry 262,775 reviews between them, led by the Luís I Bridge with 98,133 at 4.8, which has its own page. Eleven have 500 reviews or more, ten at least a thousand, and nineteen of the 22 are rated 4.5 or better, the highest share of any kind of place in the directory. Eleven are scenic spots in the listing's own words; the rest are a bridge, a cathedral terrace, gardens and parks that double as lookouts.

The best rated with 500 reviews or more are the bridge, Miradouro da Serra do Pilar (4.8 from 2,421), Jardim do Morro (4.7 from 35,912), Miradouro das Fontainhas (4.7 from 2,653), Jardins do Palácio de Cristal (4.6 from 48,707), Porto Cathedral (4.6 from 39,073). Five lie within a kilometre of the centre, nine between one and three kilometres and eight further out.

The most reviewed

Luís I Bridge has 98,133 reviews at 4.8, which is more than any other place in the whole directory. It is also the cheapest thing here: the upper deck is a public footway and the walk across takes ten minutes.

Behind it come the Crystal Palace gardens with 48,707, the cathedral terrace with 39,073 and Jardim do Morro with 35,912. All four look at the same river from four different heights, and three of them are free.

Best rated with at least 500 reviews

Luís I Bridge and Miradouro da Serra do Pilar both score 4.8, from 98,133 and 2,421 reviews. They face each other across the same bend, and the Serra do Pilar terrace is the one that gets the bridge into the photograph.

Jardim do Morro at 4.7 from 35,912 and Miradouro das Fontainhas at 4.7 from 2,653 hold the same score with very different traffic. Where scores cluster this tightly, pick by where you already are and by the time of day the light works.
